Two this time
Picked up my shooting partner at 7:30 this morning, the radio was giving -9 my van temp was -15 great weather for eagles. The plan was to catch a eagle in the moonset. Didn't work. They were all setting out of the wind in the sun keeping warm. We gave it a while caught a few deer looking for breakfast then moved down to Keokuk, IA. Lock & Dam 19, the eagles were more cooperative but there was way too much light in the wrong direction most of the time. Caught a few shotss there then some ice at the falls at David's Chamber South of Nauvoo, IL. No great photos but we had a great time. This is about par for the day.
Olympus E 510 with Sigma 50-500mm @1000mm eq 1/320 F13 ISO 400 cropped just a bit to lose a limb, sharpened slightly.

Nice detail, heads aren't too hot for such a bright day! Wish I was closer or gas were cheaper.

Wow this is a cool shot. I like the DOF and the way the BG eagle is just lightly softer than the well detailed one in the front. This would be hanging on my wall for sure. :toast:
