Membership renewal

Just a quick question. My membership renewal ran out fairly recently and I'm unsure if it's worth paying to get it back. I don't post that often right now as I'm not doing too much photography, so the posting limits don't have much impact on me and my web address etc was never added to the members 'Photographers' section even when I was a member, despite asking for them to be  . I also have my own webspace so the image gallery isn't off too much importance. Right now the only thing that seems to be missing is links to my website and blog under each post I make.

So I'm not really sure what I'm actually getting for my money so I guess really what I'm asking is will there be any major benefits coming in this year to warrant becoming a paid up member again?!

I have no issues with getting my money out again for another year, I just want to make sure there is reason to do so

Hi Richard :wavey:

I suppose it depends on how often you want to post. Before I joined I used to hate waiting 72 hours to post but now find I dont post for days.

I do think that for the 52 pence per week it costs that its good value for money

Hey Ian, I guess your right in that that is the main benefit of membership. The cost isn't the worry, just what I'm actually getting for the privilege. Maybe once I get out more often with the camera it will make sense to cough up again

Hi Richard,

Our apologies about your details not being added to the lists - Tom & myself did get a bit tangled in knots (not the avian kind!) at one point this year where we both updated the members list and managed to overwrite each others updates, so all I can assume is you got caught in that and we didn't spot you'd been left out :frown:.

As to membership renewal - thanks for your support up to now. The membership helps to support the forum in terms of server space and bandwidth - both of which cost Jim a fair bit each year. I know we've said it before, but things will be changing so that the benefits of membership become more clearly defined for those that help support UKNP financially.

Hi Richard,

I paid up for three years in October just gone even though I have been so busy that I haven’t time to post or make comments in the last year!

My reason for being a paid member is simple! This site is an invaluable resource and a great place to network, make friends, get an answer to a problem and so forth. The money that I pay ensures this site is here to stay. As you know running a site isn’t cheap! Running NPN is a huge investment in both time and money!

The choice is yours but I don’t feel the price is high for being a member of a great community!

Happy New Year!

Paul

Richard,

The money simply, and only, goes to help pay for server costs and software modification costs and without it NPN would not exist.

If you don't feel that NPN provides you any enjoyment or enhances your photography then don't pay to continue a service that does nothing for you, if however you feel that the you gain benefit/enjoyment from NPN being here then NPN would welcome the support.

Sorry about the Photographer page mix -up... ( we may have to revist this page again for we have probably wiped of more than you :frown: )
