The bleakness of winter subtracts a lot of color from our landscape, but the beautiful lines of black and white still entice me to shoot along Cedar Creek. When the waters are at a normal level, this area along the Pioneer Cabin trail above Cedar Falls is one of my favorite places to shoot. The stark jags in the rocks provide lots of great angles to see and enjoy the flow of the water.

Happy New Year everyone! I have been lurking some, but am just now able to catch my breath from the Christmas rush. I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas season and best wished for a great 2010!
Karla it is nice to have you back at it. From what I have heard it sounds like your Christmas rush is quite a pain. Happy new year to you and the family as well.

Lovely light and texture Karla. I'll have to visit that portion of the creek some time.

Karla, I like the black and white effect on this photo. The Pioneer Cabin area is one I would like to explore more.
