Sigma 500mm lens hood

The fool that I am I managed to lose the hood to my Sigma 500mm, in the snow yesterday. Despite back-tracking all my footsteps (bloody hard work up a hill knee-deep in the white stuff), I couldn't find it.

Does anyone know if there's a third party/unbranded hood avaialble? The siggy one costs a bomb (for what is essentially a hollow tube) and it's not very good in my opinion. Or if anyone happened to have a spare one kicking about that they want to get rid, please let me know. It needn't be in good condition, as that won't match the rest of my gear

Cheers,

It happened to me with a 600f4 years ago...it cost £350.00 to replace it! Luckely I was insured...
Good luck

You could get that design and use it as a template on some kydex sheet from a craft store and save a packet.

Thanks folks, seen that. Only problem is I'm not known for my DIY skills. I know, somehow this gene didn't activate in my macho making
