Longmont, Co
I've been a little absent from here lately, but have managed to get out and shoot over the holidays. Nothing too amazing, but I like to make the most of my local area, and sometimes you can come away with some decent images right on your doorstep.
These are all taken in Longmont.
First one is Jan 1st.
Canon 5Dmkii & 50D cameras.
EDIT: #1 needs a bit more WB tweaking now I uploaded it here

Glad to see you are getting out. Like 1 and 3 myself - probably due to the depth in the images. The warm colors above cold in #1 is a nice winter scene.

Have to say I like all of them. Each one brings something different.

Hi Nick. I like the tones in #3, and the tracks on the pond are intriguing.

Great images Nick. Love the shot of the cattails and a nice touch with the tracks across the snow. All very nice images. Congrats.

You have a knack for these local shots, Nick. I like them all, but #3 really stands out for me.

They are all great but I'm really feeling the ducks/geese! It just looks so cold with the low lying fog and the birds all cozy. Great job! :toast:

I like all of these Nick!! I see a second possibility for number 1 that I like a little better. Try a crop right at the base of the dark tree line. It isolates the barn a lot more. It reminds me of an image I saw at Mangelsens gallery the other day.

Nick,

Very nice stuff. I really love how you have found these 'gems' right in your backyard. An inspration for me. Thanks.

Pretty series, Nick--especially #3; that shot is killer!!

I agree...#3 if my fav of the group. I like the comp best with the fog shrouded distant peak giving it wonderful depth.

great shots Nick! I really like the last one with the Geese :toast:

Nothing like shooting in your own back yard eh? Nice images.

Great series, Nick. Isn't it amazing what you can find in your own backyard? I like them all, hard to choose a favorite. I really like the mood in the 1st one with the old barn and the color in the sky and on the peaks. Nice detail in the moon shot. I agree that the tracks in the snow in the 3rd image really add to it. And I love the 4th one with the morning mist and the ducks. Very nice images.

Really like that first image with the barn in the foreground and the pink clouds.
