Just in case you are not sick of snow yet, I thought I would post one from this morning on my way to work. I normally ignore common birds but couldn't resist this time, as the falling snow was making it very magical.

I know the perch won't be liked but I appreciate any c&c.

Love the portrait format and the atmosphere captured is very nice and the bird looking out of the frame works for me and is different, very nice Liam   :wavey:

I guess this might be a bit of a 'marmite' shot but for me I'd prefer it looking into the frame or if over the shoulder the the bird would be better suited on the LHS of the frame. Just an opinion I guess but I do like the essence of the bird in the negative space and could work very nicely.

Well, it works for me (but then I like marmite too  ). Captures the atmosphere of a miserable day beautifully. Although it is a rule of composition that a bird should look into a frame, there comes a time to break rules and I think this is a case in point.

Thanks for all the comments, I have a few with the bird looking the "right" way but I love the background on this one. Hopefully going to get some more snow this weekend so I will be out practicing..
