Photograph of a male Barn Owl hunting over farmland on a very cold morning The background was pure frost and as the sun begain to come up it warmed up this field and the Barn Owl began quartering,on the look out for food.I love the layered effect from the frozen background to the un-frozen foreground and the distinctive colour temperature changes of the habitat.

Absolutely stuning Craig. One to die for in my opinion.
I reckon a slight crop from the bottom would be an improvement but that is a very minor personal thing and I'd have no problem taking it as it is. Who I am kidding, I'd bite your hand off for a shot like this.

Looks like you made the best of the available light and captured a really moody image Craig. Nice backlighting on the owl. I would die for a little light like that down here..! Anyway, time will reward I hope..

Hi Craig nice image. I would expect a pano of this would work as well. Stunning though.

It's a beautiful shot, no doubt about it and the textures and colours are fantastic. With an image such as this however, which is already high contrast in terms of the light, I'd consider dialling down on the contrast a little. As tempting as it is to really punch out the colours in the owl you don't want an image as nice as this to start to look overcooked.
Cheers

A superb shot Craig with gorgeous colouring and beautiful light on the bird - one of the best Barn Owl flight shots I've ever seen

I keep coming back to this one as I think its absolutely superb. The colours, textures, detail and lighting is spot on. I can't fault anything on this and definately one for the wall.
