Redwing
This bird paid quite a few visits to my garden today. Unfortunately I had to photograph through glass (but at least it was warmer that way). Unfortunately the berries are now almost gone so I doubt I will see it again.

I don't know if this looks a bit better. It was in shadow where it was perched so it was quite dark. And yes before anyone mentions it I know I have put 2009 on my picture

I am glad you got your redwing at last, Maggie, but I do think the shot could still do with a little more work on both contrast and levels to give it a bit more punch.

Nits covered and a nice shot - good to see room around the bird to tell the story as well. :toast:

This is a lovely shot Maggie, lovely setting and great timing with the berry! I have my Fielddfare but I cannot get the Redwing, one visits but is off before I can press the shutter, perhaps we can swop birds!! :toast: :toast:

I agree with the above comments Maggie. If this were mine I'd try using the 'shadow/highlight tool in PS and increase the contrast a touch as I feel there is a stronger image there than you have presented. I'd also be tempted to try a slightly squarer crop by taking some off the bottom of the frame as I think the foliage is competing with the subject. Since this fall of snow we have had a few of these in the local hedgerows but not as yet in the garden so I'm hoping for a few pictures myself this weekend.
