Bird on a spikey bush!
Hi all

Havent posted for a while due to various commitments over Christmas and New Year so I hope everyone had a great break and are looking forward to a year full of great photography!

I photographed this female Stonechat this afternoon after it was feeding on salt left by the gritter on the road. Luckily for me, it was a great poser, and using the car as a hide, allowed a very close approach.

It's forecast -10c tonight so hopefully it will survive another harsh night.

Comments and crits welcome.

Regards

Ian

Nice image Ian. I wonder if editing out that dead leaf at the top would improve it further?

Cracking shot and sharp as a a tack. I like the other parallel sticks which give it balance (at least for me!).

Hi Ian,

lovely sharp shot and a very nice background :toast:

I would lose the two small stray twigs bottom right

Hello Ian.

Loveley image of this Stonechat and really like the setting.

If I was going to do any think to this it would be just to remove the dead leaves, I like the lower twigs and also feel they balance the image.

a lovely shot Ian, well composed. I also like the twigs and wouldn't change them, apart from perhaps the dead leaf.

A lovely detailed bird, as a composition I like it as it is - a bleak Winter scene setting for this single Stonechat. :toast:
