Winter storms in The NW are sending their calling cards
This image illustrates the power of the ocean, it was taken last year on Feb 21 from Pt. Vincente Fishing access on Palos Verdes. I just wanted anyone interested in big sea photography to know that there are big swells headed this way basically from this afternoon through Wednesday. The swell maybe to NW to be good at Royal Palms but's it's worth a shot if you go. Pt Vincente North will probably be better. An added bonus is that the sunsets can be spectacular at Palos Verdes. Just throwin' this out there for anyone's that interested and close enough to check it out. I'm lucky I only live 30 minutes away.

Olympus E-500 150mm telephoto f/11 not sure about the shutter speed.

Waves will be running anywhere from 7ft to 12 ft. Image was 15 to 18

The surfers will be out at Rincon Point up Santa Barbara way on a NW swell. Have fun at PV, Paul.

I wish we got waves like you guys down here in So Cal. Them Channel Islands always seem to ruin the party.

Love the addition of those gulls here. Really gives the viewer an idea of the size and power of that wave. Hope you capture some good stuff in the next few days.

Very impressive, Paul. The birds add a nice sense of scale.

Wow Paul, I really like this shot. I love the ocean the smell and the power of the water. I live in the high desert and miss seeing the water. Puts me in the mood for a road trip.

Very impressive wave set. Nice b&w treatment as well. :toast:
