Does anyone know if the Nikon HK28 hood for the AFS 500 Mk2 will fit the MK1 (hood HK24)? Grays say they are not compatible but i think both lenses are the same, or almost the same diameter.
I have managed to lose my hood in deep, drifting snow on the moor and think my chances of finding it in the melt a bit slim. A new HK24 will take a couple of months and cost a ludicrous sum for what it is, but a few HK28s are knocking around half price.
