Something Old & Something New
I know it's winter but I thought it's time to throw down some color. This is from fall of 2009 just north west of the California Poppy Reserve. I like the contrast between the old wooden post and the poppies.

Very well done, John. This is one of my favorite places to photograph
in the spring.

John,

I've always thought about going out to the preserve. This image sure helps wet my appetite for wildflowers.I see about four species for sure I sure there's more. Wow!

I remember seeing so many of these old rotted fence posts out there. Beauitful view John, sad to know that this doesn't last long out there and doesn't show up every year.

John,

Very nice display from the preserve. I like the inclusion of the old fence post and the distant mountains. Been there a couple of times and it's actually a difficult place to shoot, even in the good years. You did well with this one.

You mentioned the "fall of 2009," you sure you didn't mean the spring?

Hopefully we have a good year coming up.

Oooh I can't wait for flowers! Though I sure hope they come this spring, rather than in the fall

Nice display of the flowers there - looks like a healthy collection.

John,

Welcome to NPN and CANP! Is this your first post here?

The flower carpet is lovely, and I like the old snag. Nice work!

Thanks for adding your info the Roll Call! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Nice use of that old post to add a little interest and contrast. I might prefer a version with the camera slightly higher so that the post top doesn't break the mountain ridgeline, if you took one. Other than that little nit, this looks really nice to my eyes. Well seen and captured!
