Hi all
Thanks for the comments on my linnet shot, always good to get different perspectives. Here's a Reed Bunting from the same session (although the weather had dramatically changed!). They're beautiful birds and a pleasure to photograph as they seem less jittery than many other species. Hope my photo does them justice.
Taken from hide, camera body muffled with scarf, camping stove roaring away next to me, gloves smoldering from where I got careless!

Lovely image, the snow really makes it magical. Nice to get some eye contact as well

Good one.
Most of the snow blobs on my stuff yesterday were right in front of heads !

The pinky-orange light makes the bird really stand out from its surroundings and the snow even seems to be falling in just the right quantity for you! I really like this a lot

I never see these on a branch. Great stuff. Nice warm colors.

A beauty! I do see these on branches here, as well as in the reeds. Curiously, I had just been shooting one of these before I came in to see this one - on the ground. I suppose in these conditions, the only way to get a catchlight would be to use flash?

Another good one Simon. As mentioned that catchlight would move it one stop further.
