Crested Tit on Pine
1D2n, 600mm f4 is, 25mm extension tube, 1/160s, f4, iso 400. Fill flash.

Another crestie from my most enjoyable session with Neil McIntyre last month. By the time I got this one, my hands were so numb I really had little control over the camera buttons.

LARGER VERSION

Hi Ian - this is a cracking detailed shot - the larger version is immense! Great catchlight which adds to the image - if I was being REALLY picky (and if it were mine) I might clone out the OOF greenery in the top RHS (if you cover it up on the screen with your hand I think it makes the image even stronger) but that doesn't detract from this excellent image

cheers

Colin

Now that's class Ian. Great detail and the eye contact is perfect :toast: 600mm plus a tube and flash - quite a result I think!

Beautiful shot Ian :toast:

I agree about cloning the bit of greenery top right out.

Spot on in my view.
A bird I've only seen in france and will never get to photograph now.
Good stuff.

I think you controlled the camera buttons very well. A cracking image of a beautiful bird. The frost on the branch is just the icing on the cake. :wavey: :jump:

A good image here Ian and the setting is priceless. Wouldn't remove anything. They are great litle birds, but boy, can they move

Great shot, I might also be tempted to remove the oof twig top right, but that is a very minor nit indeed.

Hello Ian.

A shot to die for and one of the best Crested shots I've seen.

The whole setting could'nt be better or nicer and I would not change a thing.

I missed this one earlier Ian. An absolute cracker. Probably the best image of a Crested Tit I have seen.
