Ripplets
On a cloudy and almost windless winter mornng, I watched some Red-breasted Mergansers foraging on a salt lake. The water was calm and only briefly disturbed by swimming and submerging mergansers.
This female swam through some ripplets just when the sun broke through the clouds. I liked the pattern of lines and the backlight so I just captured the moment. I wonder what you'll think of it.
Nikon D80 @ 500 mm, iso 320, F8, 1/2500 sec on a beanbag from a car window.

I love the lines and pattern too. Very simple graphic image and all the better for it. Less is often more and in this case, its a lot!

One of your best in my opinion, Sandra. The only alteration I would make would be to shave some off the bottom to make a more panoramic shape.

Comp works for me and is a fine image but the dull conditions aren't quite making it stand out .

The shape of the bird against the horizontal lines makes this one Sandra.

Beautiful silhouette of the bird and nice reflection in the water. The lines in the water and overall lighting is lovely.
