Perhaps somebody could confirm or correct my identification on this one for me. One of a series of shots that I took of these charming little birds feeding among the feet of a herd of cattle in the snow. They had collected around the feeding troughs for obvious reasons. I have never seen them so olive/yellow in colour before which is why I'm not really sure that they are meadow pipits. If anybody can see a colour cast in this shot please say so, I have been having a complete nightmare lately trying to get my colours right in snowy shots.
Some great shots on here lately btw.

Sorry, Eric. I have tried to turn it into Buff-bellied pipit and tree pipit (despite the time of year), but keep coming back to Meadow pipit on the basis of the colour of the legs and the short, diffuse supercilium. Even if it is a 'common' bird, it is still a super shot of it.

Thanks David, I wasn't expecting anything rare, I like them all; but I am useless at LBJs. Thanks for your time and comments. Eric

Minor nit is the cattle hairs.Other than that a fine study.

Great shot, I quite like the hair as I find it adds to the image. Really nice colour and sharpness in the bird.

Great shot, looks like meadow pipit to me. I would get rid of the hairs if it was my pic.

Nice work Eric - I'd agree with your 'Mipit' ID. By the way, I think Mark means minor 'nit' on the cattle hair to the left
