I don't do many b&w conversions, but I just felt like it fit the scene. I was really drawn to the mist on the water. This is Woods Lake near Tahoe. Thanks for your feedback.

Chris,
Is this Woods lake on Highway 88 next to Caples Lake? Looks familiar as I used to go camping there with the family a few times.
this is a nice conversion. I like the contrast and tonality of the trees lining the lake and the presence of the little rock islands makes for some interest in the scene. I do wish this was a little wider or broader view so the island on the right isn't cut off. It would also bring more of the reflection in to play. Certainly this is a beautiful location and you captured it well.
I like the openness of this and the nice detail.I agree with Lon regarding the need for tad more room on the right. You might also consider burning down the far background just a bit in order to accentuate the the foreground and the nice detail in the treelines. This works very well in B&W.

This works well in b&w and the processing looks good too. I also agree with Lon and Preston. Very nice scene, Chris.

This works well in black and white.

Love the tones and subject matter captured here... particularly with the fresh snow. If you have any versions with a little more breathing room around that rock-island on the right, I might prefer that. But this more than works as presented too... well done!
