I made this photograph on Thanksgiving Day. I was drawn to the nice diagonals of the leaves on the ledges and how they seem to cascade downward.

The rock is limestone. I'm not sure what tree the leaves belong to. Can anyone ID them? Thanks.

Tachihara 4x5
210mm Symmar-S
Astia 100F

Your thoughts are always appreciated.

Preston,

Nice image reminds me of a Japanese pond waterfall of leaves. Can't help on the leaf id, they look Alderish to me but I've never seen our local Alders change color so dramatically here, the Alder in my front yard still has most all the leaves on it. Maybe it has something to to do with the night time temps.

Preston,

You've been sand-baggin' you ole coot! Another wonderful autumn image. I don't know how much color work you did with this, if any, but I'm really liking the results you've been getting with Astia. I may have to "experiment" again.

Like you, I really like the sort of cascading effect and the different tiers where the leaves are getting caught. I even like the URC as it gives this a sense of place and puts things in context. Well done!

Sorry, can't help with the tree either, but I'll toss out a guess and say buckeye? or Oregon Ash? Ah, what the f do I know. not much.

Beautiful fall scene, Preston. I like the weathered surface of the limestone as well as the colors.

This is very nice indeed, Preston. I think I've mentioned this before about certain films and their ability or inability with certain colors or with shady or sunny conditions. Astia seems to be a real champ with yellow and greens IMO, this scene is a fine example. This capture provides an extremely natural look here with the contrasts with yellow, black, gray, and in the shade too.
The composition works extremely well with the view upwards toward the cascading leaves too.

Another beauty, BDOF! This is sweet!!! Really pretty.

A 210 Symmar S? I don't remember you having one of those. Oh yeah, now I remember. You are puttin' that thing to some fine use.

Preston,
Nice autumn image. The rock undulations remind me of waves. Not sure about the trees? Best Regards.

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

I will be printing this one, so I'm looking for a good title. any suggestions?

Also, I may add a bit of Gaussian blur to the upper right corner.

Thanks, always,

Beautiful yellows, Preston, and the comp aint bad either, well done. "Cascade" might be a simple enough title :toast:

Reno's title is a good one. Taking it a step further, I also like Leaf Cascade.

I'm enjoying this one quite a bit. The pocket of yellow leaves contrast really well with those well-framed rock ridges. I really enjoy the moss is barren from the rock tops to really pronounce the ridgelines. Very nice work!

If it had a slightly sweet smelling aroma in the area, I would be inclined to think the leaves are some form of Alder.
