The forecast 'light snow' turned out to be a little more than was predicted and resulted in a day of forced photography The obliging grey wagtails again provided entertainment, battling with the great tits to get on the highest perch.

Just shows how little I know - I thought these migrated until I saw one in my garden yesterday.
A beautiful shot, with the reflected light from the snow really lifting the colours on the underside.

Lovely Dave - the grey background and the reflected light off the show set the colours off beautifully

that's very nice Dave. A perfect bird to photograph in snowy conditions as the yellow chest stands out beautifully. Well taken.

Lovely shot Dave but I would be tempted to clone out some of the larger OOF snow flakes in the top right of the picture and the one above the bird's rump. (Was it snow on the lens?) Only a minor niggle.

Most unusual and successful image of this wagtail.
I prefer this to your first post Dave. The snow has really highlighted that glorious yellow breast.

Many thanks for the comments. I did do a version with flakes removed, but in the end preferred it as it was - it rather lost the atmosphere without the blobs and it really was slinging it down at the time!

One of the top ten lookers on the resident British list and this is no exception Dave.
As said the snow shows off the wonderful colours in this image very well.
