Pretty in Pink
Late afternoon at Welney, with the bird flying into the sunset.

Nikon D3 with Nikon 600/F4. 1/400 sec at F4, ISO 400, EV 0. Cropped to approx 75% of original, and some extraneous ducks cloned out. There was such a small area of clear water that it was pretty much wall to wall birds of one kind or another.

All C&C welcome please.

Well caught, beautiful lighting. I can only strive to achieve an image as good as this! :toast:

Some lovely light on the bird and nicely composed. You did well to find an uncluttered shot by the sound of it!

absolutely lovely - my only very slight nit would be the apparently sloping water, but looking again, it may just be an illusion ? Is that ice in the BG ? :toast: :toast:

Gorgeous for all the reasons stated above. You could flip it so that the flight is from left to right but really, why bother... :toast:

Very nice light indeed.I'd love to see a larger version of this one. I agree about the impression of the water sloping a little.

The line in the bg is in fact the edge of a sheet of ice.

Thanks for the comments. :toast:
