Head & Shoulders
John R already has a great head shot posted recently. Here is an inferior attempt. However, just like John R's fieldfare this guy has been sitting beside his apples for the last week or so.

20D, Sigma 50-500mm

For me this could do with a touch more depth of field to increase the sharpness as the main point of focus appears to be on the tip of the beak. Perhaps a case of pulling back a touch when taking the image and then cropping a bit in processing.

Agree with above comment but still a lovely strong close-up. You must have been very close.

Hello Michael

Nice portrait and a little more DOF would have been nice but it must have been a nice feeling to get this close.

Impressive that you managed to get so close but I'd have to echo the above nits, lacking a little sharpness

Cheers

Cheers for the feedback everybody. I completely agree with the nits. Bit of a novelty to have these in the garden
