Coyote
Wildlife is not my forte but when this guy ran across the road in front of me I was able to stop and get this one image out the window before he was gone. Luckily I had the 70-200mm on.

This was out in the Guadalupe Mountains on a rare October snowfall.

Beside photography my other passion is archery hunting. I had one of these guys about 4 feet from me while standing motionless in some brush. He would dig and sniff, dig and snif. Eventually he caught a whiff and was instantly GONE.

On a later venture this year I was in a stand and had 3 of them slowing hunting around my area. Interesting to what.
I just wish people were as 1/10 aware of their surroundings as animals. As it is we happily skip along and get mugged... Just thinking out loud...

Nice capture. Consider a crop???

the fisch

Darren, I like how the coyote kind of blends in with the surroundings, exhibiting its natural camouflage. Reminds me of pictures from Art Wolfe's book "Vanishing Act."

For a grab shot I think this has a lot going for it Darren. I like the environmental aspect of this image and how the coyote is framed by all the vegetation. Great eye contact and fair detail too. Nice moment. Thanks for sharing.

Good job on this capture. Like others have said, I like how this is framed and how it shows the coyote blending in with his environment. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Really a chance image. I am surprised I got anything. My luck with wildlife is usually nil. I work alot with large format and sometimes I think I am faster with that than with an slr

I like it. Very unusual to get a shot like this in Texas. The warm browns and cool white snow make a good combination. Nice work, Darren.
