Winter's Grip
Thought I'd get lucky and capture some freezing fog on the trees at Lake Shawnee today, but sadly it had warmed just enough to melt whatever was there before I arrived. I settled for shooting in the fog, and converted this to B/W since the only color was the FG grasses. Not knowing much about how to convert to B/W, I just played with it awhile in PS. Comments and/or suggestions appreciated.

Canon Rebel XTI, tripod
10-22 mm lens
ISO 100, F11 +2/3 @ 1/160

The fog really makes this have a great feel to it. The monochrome works well too. Like it.

I like it Angela. The photo has quite a bit of contract differences throughout the scene, works really well for me as a BW.

That makes three ... I really like this Angela. Very well composed image and a lot of interesting elements to consider. The conversion looks pretty darn good to my eyes, good contrast range and enough shades of gray to support the scene. Glad you got out. Well done.

I like the composition Angela and the bw works well. I like the way the foreground grasses lead me into the photo. Good job.

This is a nice composition Angela. I like the low prospective and how you arranged the items in the frame. The look really nice. Well done.

Great job on the b/w conversion Angela, this is very nice. I like the feeling of depth and extreme cold... this has got a lot of moodiness to it. It seems the fog just goes on forever in the distance.

I really like the way you composed this - very balanced, and the black and white conversion is nicely done.
