Spirit Mountain
Another image from last summers backpacking trips.

I've been having a hard time getting my web images to look like my full res version in photoshop, they always seem to come out darker and less saturated. I think I've gotten this one close, but I had to make it significantly brighter in PS before saving for web. Anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for viewing.

Cool Jeremy, it looks kind of surreal.

Gorgeous image, Jeremy. Love the dramatic sky and pristine reflection. I also like how the reflection somewhat mirrors the shoreline and ice. Really neat.

Let me know if you don't get an answer to your question in the forum. It would make a great installment of "Ask An Expert" on my blog.

Hey Jeremy, I was just getting an image ready to put up of the Beartooths. Great minds think alike right? I don't think mine is going to hold a candlestick to yours though. I'm glad to finally see some of your images up here. This is a real beauty. The sky provides the drama, the water provides the beautiful reflection, the v points me right to the mountain. I like the little catch light on the mountain and the colored snow beneath the surface.

I always use save for the web, make sure srgb is check marked and my images come out pretty close. I have encountered some color shift and artifacts from compression. Anyway, I'm no expert. Great work Jeremy! Don't take so long to post next time.

Quite an interesting image. I can't look at one part too long, my eye keeps jumping around. There are very interesting dynamics at work here. It's like my eye bounces from the the real object to it's reflection and back again. Well done.

Don't know about your display issues, but I do know this is one incredible shot.

Wicked shot, Jeremy--absolutely stunning! I agree with Dean--sounds like you forgot to check srgb before converting.

Fabulous image, Jeremy! I love the way you've composed the ice with the mtn reflection. The clouds are icing on the cake.

The light, colors and composition all combine to make this a superb image!

Jeremy, the reflection in this shot is sick! Especially with what looks like a layer of ice under the water.

Wow, that is an amazing image. Love the submerged ice, the crisp reflection, the colors - yep, this is a good one!!

Exquisite image, Jeremy. Dean captured my thoughts almost to the letter - clouds, color, reflection, lines converging at the focal point of the scene... you've got it all going on here. The ice/snow below the lake surface contributes a wonderful 3D quality to the scene. And I really like the way the ice and water in the foreground mimic the shape of the reflected mountain. Killer image!

Was this shot from the Grasshopper Glacier area? I had planned to backpack up there this summer, but came down with a bad cold before I even made it to Idaho. Need to get back up there...

Wonderful, a really finely crafted composition!

The clouds radiate from the mountain focusing the eye on the mountain and provide a great contrast of some pink against the blues and grays-nice shot!

I think that it is a little bit dark but not in a bad way. I think that it adds to the location's mystery and adds great tones to the submerged ice.

Great job.

As everyone said, a very nice image. Good colors and feeling of depth. Fantastic mirror in the lake and middle symmetric composition. :toast:

Great image. If you want to know what colors go together just look at nature for your reference.

I have the same problem sometimes when I post, and I bring up the midpoint of curves and desaturate a little. Still, for me it's iffy to get it close to what's in PS. Your comp, the colors, and the exposure are all extraordinary here. Superior work!
