This is the latest of my mountain hare pictures. With the coming of the snow I have been firstly trying to find then, they do seem to move around a little, and secondly try to get better images as days goes on.
I managed to get quite close to this one, I like the classic sitting pose of this one, he didn't stay very long sand of course ran away from me so I couldn't get the running shot.

A great shot although I am surprised that the hare isn't all white at this time of year. A lovely portrait of an elusive animal, nice and sharp with good colours. I have never been able to get close enough to take a good enough photo either in Scotland or here in the Peak District

Is this near full frame, Ron? If so, I am amazed at how close you have managed to get with a species that vanishes over the horizon as soon as I see one.
Nice one Ron - how are you managing to get so close ?

Hi really nice picture.. i would love to see one of these, my only nit is you have a blue cast because of the snow. just a slight tweak in CS will fix this.

This about 80% of full frame I was about 8 yards away from it in a bush. I had seen the hare in the same location for about three days running si I decided ti give it a go. I'm still trying to thaw out after sitting for a couple of hours
Thanks all for you comments

Very nice detail, and I love the facial expression and head position.
