Another hard drive "find." Not really a find, per se, since I had done some work on it, but I don't think it's seen any life other than on my own monitor. I might opt to make the fence posts disappear, but after seeing that new content-aware healing brush slated for CS5, I might just wait til it's released.

Obviously this is near Silver Jack. This was post-sunset, so the sky was totally blown out. I took a few exposures just for sky and combined a darker sky with the rest. There's some fringing and imperfections along the tree-lined horizon parts, but not enough to bother me at small to medium sizes. This probably won't ever be a 30x45, but that's okay.

A shot like this shouldn't be kept from everyone. This is one sweet shot!

Wow that is gorgeous and really shows the essence of the Colorado paradise. The light is working great for your exposure as well.

Nicely done. I really like the comp, as you've got the stands of trees, then the stand of rocks.
Screams "Colorado"!

Love it, looks like a beautiful day. Makes me yearn for the summer months.

Damn, Todd! How did you let this languish on your hard drive for so long? I think it's phenomenal. Too bad their isn't a little more sky overhead as this would be a SICK calendar cover.

Todd... what an amazing shot! Excellent light and colors... really admire your work... :toast: :toast:

Beautiful Todd. You gotta look for that fence. Nice mix of everything here. Nice work.

Beautiful composition and mix of elements, the blended sky fits in perfectly - glad you shared this one!.

Calendar shot came to mind when I opened this. This is a total beauty, Todd.

Ha, I was there last year in June hoping for this shot but the flowers were past their prime. You captured it perfectly!

Mighty nice Todd.

Beauty! Can't imagine something like this languishing on a hard drive...

Nice - this would look really great in a calendar, don't you think?
Posted by Jack Garrett on January 19, 2010 at 12:03 PM
Yep...I agree with all the others, this is an awesome shot and to be honest the fence posts don't bother me at all.

Just saw this Todd! Wow, that is spectacular. Don't hide this one! It needs some exposure.

I'm really like this one too. A great image that should make a great print.

BTW, is this taken in early June?

Geez....a shot like this would be plastered all over my website if it were mine!! And you just bury it on your hard drive? Shame on you! :toast:

Hey Craig, I hope you'll still see this. The shot was taken on June 23rd.

Todd - that is gorgeous. Can't believe it has been sitting on your drive! I really need to get down there in the spring / early summer time frame.

Damn nice...

Hi Todd,
What fence posts? All I see is beautiful flowers and trees and rocks and sky.
Wow, this is really making me long for summer. I love the snow, but....can't wait till wildflower season again. And also that beautiful "baby" green color of the newly budding aspen leaves. Ahhhh...
Oh...back to the image lol. I wouldn't mine having a large print of this myself. Nice composition capture and pp work. Thanks for sharing this re-found gem.
