Arenaria interpres
Hi everyone, hope you are well.
Firstly, I must apologise for my prolonged absence! We have just moved house, so I have a brand new 'local patch' to explore, so hopefully you'll be seeing much more of me!
Anyway, here is a Turnstone from before Christmas for now.
Techs:
Nikon D200, 500mm f4.
1/160 sec @f8, 200ISO
C & C most welcome as normal!
Thanks for looking!

A nice one to come back with, Dawn. The bird is sharp and the background diffuse, the low angle works well. I might be tempted to do something about that withered stalk in front of the bird, but that is a very minor nit.

Hi Dawn,
Lovely shot, great angle and love the colour tones throughout. The stalk doesn't worry me.
Cheers,
Lewis.

The stalk doesn't worry me either.
What a cracking picture, good colours and very sharp. I really like the almost subdued lighting. Very nice.
Lovely, low angle profile shot, the stalk at the front doesn't bother me a bit, in fact I think the image would lose something if you got rid of it. The only minor thing I'd suggest would be a slither off the bottom. Good stuff

Lovely low viewpoint and surrounding habitat. Nice one.
Great looking image with the same colours extending from foreground to background. Excellent angle, sharp bird and I really like the presence of the bits of vegetation here

Hello Dawn.
Super image and a great setting. I also think your choice of DOF is spot on.
I think I might just clone out the small bright area at the end of the tail feathers.
