Red Grouse walk-about
I have not posted for a while, I seem to have been really busy, anyway like so many of you I have tried to get the best from the snow and alternated between a number of projects. One of these was to try to get grouse on total snow with no bits of heather sticking out at all.

It appears that you managed the shot you wanted. :toast:

I find the bits of dirty snow/dust bunnies in the upper part of the shot a little distracting, but they wouldn't be difficult to lose.

A bird I have still never seen, so I am quite envious.

Doing his Ptarmigan impression quite nicely - good one Paul: thought you might have these on the agenda this month!

Interesting to see the flecks of white in the plumage. Great shot.

I can appreciate that you achieved what you set out to do Paul but for some reason I can't quite put my finger on (I don't know if it's the graphic quality of the image or what) this doesn't appeal to me.

Nice shot Paul, its surprising how many white feathers they do get in winter. Shows those booties well

Hi Paul

I bet this image was fun to process, looks like it might have been a bit of a nightmare but you've done a good job, as you have with capturing the image in the first place. Will have to catch up soon

Cheers

Hello Paul.

Lucky you I really wanted to do the same and get some Red Grouse in the snow, but there was just no way I could get to the area I needed due to the snow

Lovely capture and wish I had been their.
