Another shot of the fieldfare taken last week in my garden

Canon 50D,Canon 500f4L,ISO 400,f5.6,1/250

I think this is my favourite of hundreds of Fieldfare photos posted in various places over the past few weeks, except for the dark bar on the right hand side. It just goes to show just how difficult attaining a perfect image really is.

The dark bar does not worry me as it is comfortably out of focus. This is a gorgeous image, with excellent control over dof.

Very attractive image; lots of complimentary tones and some interesting textures. I'm sure you could deal with the dark bar if inclined.

A reduction in the 'red' channel would help give a cleaner appearance, and remove the cast in the snow IMHO. Agree with Phil, re the bar on the rhs.
Posted by Karen Summers on January 20, 2010 at 2:52 PM
Didn t think there was a cast to worry about Stephen and the bar doesn t bother me to much but agree I could deal with it if I wished so.

One of the best Fieldfares I think I've seen so far on here.. However some of the nits mentioned are really worth tweaking with as it will compliment this image very well.. Nice work.

Hello Karen.

Thats one very nice Fieldfare shot and I love the perch with the snow and fungi.

With a background like this it would be very easy to remove the dark bar on the right.

Superb! Interestingly, I looked at this on my work monitor and thought it looked a bit dark. Glad I looked again! I would definitely try to take out the dark bar.
