These guys are fast, or maybe I'm too slow. One of several attempts when it was snowing.

D300, 500mm, f6.3, 1/500s, iso400, cropped for comp.

I like this one. The oof landscape is really good - this is very evocative - I've spent hundreds of hours on the hill in Scotland and the explosion of grouse and blur of colour as it shoots off is a very memorable and often heart-stopping moment, and thats been well caught here.

Very well caught - both bird and environment.

Hello Des.

Cracking shot and love the snow base to the image and the bird is nicely placed in the image to make for a very nice composition.

Beautiful image! If I were to be really picky, I'd be tempted to lose the top bits of the OOF grass right in the middle (the bits running horizontally) - for some reason, they caught my eye.

Great capture Des - the crop is a designer's dream; there are so many options!
