Erik's Place
I went up to Stensland's "backyard" on Highway 7 on Monday for some morning shots. I wanted to try more star shots first, before sunrise. One of these days I'll get these things right. "Practice makes perfect" they say. I also attempted some light painting with my headlight on some. I wanted to keep the iso at 800 to keep the noise down and shot wide open on my 50mm at f2.5. Shooting at this time at that iso made the shutter speed 45 sec. instead of 30 as I had hoped. The stars as a result are dashes instead of dots. Oh, well, I thought the cloud movement was cool.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

I'm partial to #2 also, but I also like #3. Truth be told, I like #1, too!

Morris

I like them all but #3 is my fav. I think you did an awesome job.

Morris, these are real interesting. I like the thin layer of clouds and am not bothered by the dashes of stars. It's a nice mix of color.

Hey, I know those trees! Morris, the first one is my favorite. I'm not fond of the color of the light on the other two. It makes them seem a bit artificial, but that first one with the moving clouds with the trees in the corner for perspective is great! :toast:

#1 is my fave for the way the stars and clouds flow away from the little bit of earth. Thanks for letting us in on the experiment!

I like them all, but I think I am partial to # 1, because of the colors, and as Erik said, the trees on the left for perspective.
