Hi Everyone,

We're planning to go up to Mojave National Preserve this weekend. There is some snow forecast for tonight at the higher elevations, but does anyone know the current conditions? Would Kelbaker road be passable from the south end? And how are the dirtroads (esp. Kelso Dunes Rd) after all this rain that came down over the past week?

Thanks so much in advance!

Henri

You can ask the ranger but it should be fine.
You never know with the dirt roads,
I did see a lot of water in the north west end of the park but not much else where

Driving through to Las Vegas yesterday, I had a chance to take a quick sidetrip through that area, the snow on the peaks over that direction is awesome. I did see quite a bit of standing water in some areas but overall everything seemed in pretty decent shape on the North side of the park like Steve saw.

On a sidenote, now is a great time to shoot the "lake" over by Primm on the Nevada border, the salt flats are completely underwater! Its absolutely awesome driving that stretch coming down that hill towards Vegas and seeing it from up high
