Hi all,
Caught this chap out near my house in the Forest of Dean today before the sun set. They are incredibly shy and mostly nocturnal so getting decent images is difficult without weeks of preparation. Hopefully I will get some time this year to undertake a little project on them.
You have done well, as you say, they are very shy and spook easily. The pose/crop are excellent and colour seems to be spot on, although away and view on laptop so... It looks almost early morning with the light
That is a cracker for a truly wild animal. Great eye contact and composition. If anything it looks a touch light on my screen but nothing that cannot be sorted. Great image.

I really like the colours and textures that you have captured here. Great shot, though I think the force was with you to get something sharp at 1/125s.

Lots to like about this shot, as others have said. Probably the best shot of a UK wild boar that I have seen.

Congratulations an excellent capture of a very difficult subject. I have only seen the footprints.

Hi Lewis,
Cracking shot mate well done, You best get out there before the forestry cull them all. 18 in 08, 32 in 09, how many this year will they kill that are supposedly "rogue" boar? I have very strong opinions as you know about the subject and hate to think that this beautiful critter will once again be exterminated from the Forest of Dean.
All been said. Congrats on capturing a great UK species so well.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks all for the feedback, I really appreciate it.
Hi Brian, yeah I know, its not looking good from our (and the boars) point of view. I think if you doubled those figures it would be nearer the truth, thats without poaching and others that have been dispatched legally by landowners.
