Different indeed, but very nice. I like it a lot.

The composition doesn't really work for me I'm afraid. I think the stems and the reflection both going out of frame are a bit distracting (sorry, I can't quite find the right words Ian).

Hi Ian

I've looked at this several times now and finally decided why I didn't comment earlier. I really like the idea, it very creative and works well. The trangled dragonflies are echoed in the trangled stems - brilliant! Where it doesn't work for me (and what would give the image the X-factor - sorry couldn't resist) is the comp.

Now i've work it out, here's a suggestion: if you crop to just below the stem top left and equal up the left-hand side to match the right, bingo, the whole thing really starts to sing. Composition is subjective obviously and a matter of what pleases the individual eye.

Well done for seeing this.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks all for taking the time and trouble to comment :toast:

I thought it would be a Marmite image but was worth a try

Chris I will give your crop suggestion a go

Like Chris, I've looked at this a couple of times. Overall I like it, but I think the crop doesn't work here. I'd like to see the whole plant & reflection, but I think it'd make the damsels too small in the frame.

Hello Ian.

I like this alot and the idea behind it, For me it just needs more on the right and less on the left.
