Just sorting out some images from the latter part of last year and found a whole selection of Raven images from an enjoyable day which I'd clean forgotten! I need to revisit my external hard drives more often.
Nice stuff to have forgotten about! Great birds and a well taken image - the left birds slight lean forwards adds a certain tension to the image that would be lacking otherwise. Like it.
They're moody looking things, aren't they! Excellent light, detail and pose and I think you've done really well working both birds sufficiently into the focal plane to get them both critically sharp.
Lovely atmosphere to this; the dark sky and dramatic lighting set off these great birds very well. Perhaps a tad more room for the bird on the left to look into? Nice work.
Cheers,
Chris

How could you forget something like this Mr Sisson? Perhaps you should post me your drives and I'll check through them for you
One of the best Raven images I have seen. Were these controlled birds?

Great shot, I wish I could get detail like that in black birds!

Very nice indeed Mark. Great detail, especially where it matters around the eyes, and a diffused bg as well.
The shot shows the power in that beak - they almost look like black toucans!

Thanks all - Robert they were wild birds photographed from a hide at a Griffon Vulture release/re-introduction site in Bulgaria, a project those that know me will know I like to flag wave about.

That is a superb image, how on earth did you manage to forget about it for so long? The dark, brooding background and dead branches set the birds off very well. A minor nit is that I would like to see a little more canvas on the left for the birds to look into, but no big deal. Even so, probably the best raven image I have ever seen.

Hi Mark, great capture of the two birds and plenty of detail in the plumage. Cracking Shot.
Nice one Mark, good to see them side by side and it shows the physical difference between the two sexes.

Truly wonderful work. All the environmental factors working for you on this one and the detail has been captured by you very well indeed. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.
