Yosemite before the storm
This was two weekends ago just before the recent big one that hit Yosemite. Going back this coming Wednesday morning if the roads cooperate. Probably go in via 140 to be safe.

Dan,

I've always been fascinated with these matted down clumps of grasses along the Merced and still don't have an image that shows them well. You've found a nice cluster of these grasses and this works pretty well. I'm all to familiar with the flat, gray light when it's overcast in the valley and it's too bad you didn't have some warmer light to give those grasses some color. Of course a personal choice, but you may consider cropping from the left to a near square and have the reflection of the trees help frame the left side.

As far as Yosemite on Wednesday, you won't have any problems with the roads, but check with CalTrans if you decide to go 120. I always go 140 in the winter. You might have a slight chance of snow overnight Tuesday. I hope conditions are favorable for you.
