Absolutely spot on Guy. Bird is well detailed and posed, the environment / perch is great and the background is complimentary to the bird. Lovely image. Approximately what focal length was this at?

excellent as uusual Guy. Personally I'd crop 1/3rd off the bottom to remove OOF branches.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - the level of the sharpness you obtain at the ss's you use staggers me. The tail on this one was moving I guess but the rest is tack sharp.
I know these little fellas do tend to pose for the camera, but I'm still impressed nonetheless.
I like the BG too and am with Peter on the crop suggestion

Spot on Guy. Lovely clean and simple image, great background, and above all, lots of room for the bird

Good one. Nice "clean " image.
I think I'd take a bit off the bottom but no big deal>

That is really a special image Guy and just as I would expect to see them, superb detail and great BG to compliment. Nice work.

I think I would crop the lower pine shoots or clone them out, but what a cracking shot to be playing with. I really like it.

Love this - absolutely superb, and yes perhaps just a tad off the bottom.

Hello and thank you for all your nice comments.
Robert The focal lengh was 648mm.
I thought the lower right corner might have give mixed comments and you are all quite correct it does work very nicely with out it. I was very lucky last year to find a pair of these in perfect conditions for clean backgrounds and getting frame filling shots was not to difficult for a change. And I have rather alot of them including this one with out the lower right corner in. I posted this one as I thought the extra room was nice for the Stonechat and was able to place the bird in the top left third for composition. I left the lower right out of focus area in as I wanted to still try and include more of the enviroment and take the image away from just being a portrait.
Thanks again for your comments and thought I would just add this so you might get some idea of my thoughts at the time of taking.

Very nice Guy, as already said - clean and simple and I like the oof stuff for the extra context it provides.
