The sun was just creeping through the clouds, lighting up El Cap and giving very contrasty, but beautiful backlighting to these oak branches.

I did what I could to bring the contrast down.

Does it work?

I love this Dan. It's different from the usual soft light tree shots we so so many of, and the contrasts are wonderful. The brown leaves add a great dimension too.

There is a really interesting 3 dimensionality to this image. Neat abstract.

I like the texture and lines, Dan.

Works for me. I could see a small crop on the right to remove darkness of the tree in the background, but that's probably just me. Nice catch!

I like this a lot, Dan. The contrast is definitely working for you.

Dan,

I really like this - you've packed a lot of tree stuff in to this image and it's held together beautifully of course by the glow of the light off El Capitan. That rock is so huge, it's like a giant painter's canvas allowing us to capture so many different photo opportunities as a result.

I think what really makes this photo work as well as it does is the coating of snow on the branches that takes it to the next level, great image.

it works great for me Dan....the arrangement and soft light is what pulls this image to the next level.
