Great Blue
I've been photographing a bit more wildlife this winter. Here is kind of an artsy rendition of a great blue heron I found in southeast Fort Collins. The background is desaturated and slightly blue-toned to minimize its chaos.

A simpler image of the same heron flying.

Another flying image. See y'all at the Shindig tonight.

Glad to see you branching out and using your talent in other aspects of photography! I like the first one because it brings out the blue of the feathers but I would still love to see the original or at least a little bit of color in the background but that might just be a personal preference thing.

See you later Josh!

Love the first rendition. The blues really stand out against the desaturated background.

The first image is very artistic. Gives it a cold, wintry look to it.

Good choice on the processing of the first one; the heron really stands out.

A very nice set of shots, and I dig what you did with the first one, Joshua.

How on Earth did I miss these?! Fantastic shots, Josh! I like your artsy take on the first one, although I think you could achieve a nice effect by maintaining the original color but desaturating it, which would also make the heron stand out, and at the same time leaving viewers not knowing wht it stands out so well. That first in-flight shot is to die for.

Never mind, I just figured it out: You're a Colts fan. Go Saints!

Hysterical!

On a much more serious note, they're outstanding shots - a great accomplishment with such an oft-photographed creature. :toast:
