I've been thinking about upgrading my monitor and after reading some good reviews of this Dell monitor I think this may be the one. Before I order it I would like to know the height and width of just the viewing area of this monitor so I can compare it to the size of the monitor I currently use which size suits me perfectly, just not the quality. The specs on the Dell website just show the height and width of the monitor including the stand and I'm not interested in that. The last time I ordered a Dell monitor for my office I was surprised that although it was wide it wasn't nearly as high as I would need for working in LR so I'm just being a little careful. Thanks so much!

Carol - That's a 24inch monitor, which means the diagonal is 24 inches. (That could be off by 1/4 inch or so depending on model and frame, but will be pretty close.) It's also got a 16:10 widescreen format, meaning the ratio between width and height is 16:10.
Doing a little math, that means the screen is about 12.7 inches tall and 20.35 inches wide.
But basically, the fact that it's a 24 inch monitor should tell you enough. If you currently have a 20", it will be quite a bit bigger. If you have anything smaller it will seem a LOT bigger. If you have a 30" it will seem a lot smaller.

Carol, if you hunt hard enough on the site you'll find the Dell manual In PDF which will have all of the dimensions, although David's calculation is probably dead on. I have Dell 2405 and to me the 24" monitor is the perfect size, any bigger would be overwhelming, unless your desk is deep enough to push the monitor back 3 feet.
