Cardinal Female
With weather so uncooperative I've been reacquainting myself with my venerable old EF100-400mm telephoto in the backyard. Cardinals are the low-hanging fruit these days, but can still reward the patient photographer with an interesting pose.

I cropped the image from horizontal to vertical to improve the composition; I then cloned out a few twigs that detracted from the scene.

Another fine shot, Daniel. If it were mine, I would consider cropping out the OOF branches at the bottom of the image but that is a minor nit. Great work!!

Beautiful portrait, great pose, good detail, great out of focus and clean background. There are several twigs that end exactly behind the lower horizontal branch, which seems unnatural. So it might be best to clone or crop them out as well.
