Hi everyone, this year I've decided to enter the Natures Best Windland Smith Rice contest in the youth division as well as the Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year in the Youth division. Is it recommended to enter the same pictures into two different contests? any additional info on entering a contest like this is appreciated. By the way, I've read the contest rules for both of them and I couldn't find any info on this. Thanks. Joe

Imagine if the same pic was to win both contests !! The promoters would not be happy would they. Just a thought.
As far as I understand, there is no problem entering the same images into both competitions. As Colin mentioned, promotors would not be happy if you won in both, but as with the nature of these things and all things judging - how to know which judges would prefer which images You would not be happy if you didn't win in either but hadn't submitted your absolute best effort to both! There are examples of images winning multiple big comps that run concurrently - I think the organisers just get over it, I don't think it's up to you to predict results. Submit your best work to all of them
Typically you cannot have an image win in two competitions like that. So, as soon as you hear that an image has won in one competition you have to withdraw it from the others. I would avoid the trouble by not submitting the same image to multiple competitions... there's always next year.

Thanks for the advice, I agree that, although it's very unlikely, that if the same image won two contests the promoters wouldn't be thrilled.. I think I have some images that could do very well in both awards, but should I enter one this year, and wait til next year to enter the other?

I just had a look at your blog and your photography is amazing for someone any age...but at age 13, it is just incredible!!

Thanks Dan, its always been my dream to win a Natures Best Award in the Youth Division so I think I'm going to enter Natures Best this Year, and the Veolia next.
