Boston Barn
I thought I would check on the landmark barn at Boston this morning to see how it fared after the snow, and was able to catch the moon setting while I was there. I've forgotten now who has ownership of the property, but it is OK for folks to look around. If anyone has any other information on this old barn, like when it was built, etc., I'd love to find out more about it.

It was given to the forest service, and as you could see is losing boards at an alarming rate - probably won't be around for long since it is no longer in use or maintained. Every time I go that way I expect to see the front imploded...

Lovely image, Bill. I like the soft, pastel color palatte.

I know it is sad the barn may not be around much longer, but I like the way you can see through the boards. Very serene picture Bill, I like this a lot.

Thanks for the comments and information. I knew it was one of those services, Forest or National Park, that owned it.

I went back this morning for another shot or two after finding none of that freezing fog the weather service had issued an advisory about. It was foggy as could be yesterday morning in many high and low areas, and lasted until afternoon in the higher elevations - but not here - nor was there any kind of "advisory". I did find some pretty nice clouds before and after sunrise today.

Bill you know better than to trust a weather man.

Bill, the first barn image is sweet. It's one that I'd love to own, and I'm not even a "barn guy".

Both are great images, Bill. The first one stands out to me. I like the depth to the image created by the low perspective up close to the foreground grasses. This is a case where the centered horizon also works well. The moonset and pastel light are icing on the cake.

The second image would be a good candidate for a blended exposure. You might even be able to double process the RAW file to even out the exposure in the sky. I think this shot has a lot of potential.

Beautiful!

"it is OK for folks to look around" = music
to my ears. I'm tempted to leave now!

Nice take on the barn, Bill. It looks like you got the sky I was looking with the last full moonset.

I'm sorry, but the only comment I can come up with is "wow!"

Truly a beautiful shot.

Awesome photo Bill. Expert control over the tones, nice palette of colors and great depth.

I also like that the moon isn't altered and distracting to the scene.
