I don't know why I seem to have such a fascination with leaves at the moment. Every morning when I walk the dog I grab my pocket camera and we head across the road to where the ground is covered with multitudes of oak leaves. The dog enjoys just being out and always has to patiently wait on me to finish playing in the leaves.
I started carrying a Nikon P80 (yes there is a Nikon in my house) and I really like it. A small pocket camera can really be fun to have with you and allows one to just play with out getting all carried away with "the perfect shot". I just walk around until something strikes my fancy and then, point & shoot. What a concept.
I like this, Brad. To me this image is about contrasts. First of all, the contrast in tonality between the center leaf and the surrounding leaves. Secondly it is about the contrasting shape of the leaves. The center leaf has softer rounded edges while the surrounding leaves have more sharp pointed edges. Given the muted colors I think this would really shine as a B&W.

I like that the center leaf is different, upside down, etc.
Keep that Nikon going!!

Nice image. I also agree about always having a pocket cam. Always have an LX-3 with me. Love it, even does RAW.

Brad,
I really like this shot (despite being shot with a Nikon!). I don't know if I've ever seen a life colored like the center one in this shot. I like how it is composed, nice simple and interesting!
I may have to start looking down when I'm out and about, but I will probably walk into a tree!
