Need advice buying used lens

I'm in the market for a used Canon 70-200 F4 L (non IS) lens and have looked at the big sources (B&H, Adorama) and of course here, and the buy/sell forums on Naturescapes and Fred Miranda. A couple other places keep popping up when I google for used lenses: KEH and Usedcameras.com. Anyone used them? Reputable? Any other places I should be searching? I'm very leery about eBay so would rather avoid it if possible.

I've used KEH, and have always gotten great quality for a great price.

KEH is really good. While personally have never used them (I am a big fan of Fred Miranda), my friend has used them for expensive Nikon lenses and has always been more than satisfied with the quality of service and great pricing from them.

I have never heard of usedcameras.com before, so cant comment on that!

B&H is good about not overrating their equipment. A 9 is a 9. As a potential seller looking for a buyer, KEH offered me consistently more money than B&H. Personally, I would wait for one to find its way onto the classified list in this forum. People here are as honest as the day is long. You could always place a WTB ad in the classifieds and see what pops up.

I have bought a couple of very good lenses off the POTN http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ , like Fred Miranda many of the sellers are very good and offer an accurate evaluation of the gear they are selling. Like FM the good stuff moves very quickly. Most will post example taken with the lens and photos of the lens itself. Use Paypal /credit card that should serve as a back-up in case there is a problem. Make sure shipper double boxes the shipmet and insures for full value.

KEH is very reliable and has good used prices.
Bought a 600 mm from them and was very pleased.

Hi Angela, I bought a used Canon 70-200 f2.8 (non IS) from B&H and was happy with their service. They were honest about the condition and they shipped very fast.

I bought a used lens from B&H. When it arrived it was marked refurbished by Canon. It was like new.

I bought a refurbished lens from Adorama. It too was like new.

Angela, any updates? Did you get a lens? Where from?
