I apologise for not participating much in the forum recently, many of you will know that in 2007 I lost my wife to cancer, I thought I would never move on and find true happiness again. I have found that true happiness again with someone who is very important to me and is very special.
With happiness I guess there is always some sorrow, last night I took my youngest daughter to the Maternity unit at our local Hospital, was sent home to await a call to say that she was having the baby or being sent home. Sadly I had a phone call to say that they could not find the babies heartbeat.....
I posted this image some years back, it was, I think the very first Orchid image I posted, I probably will not be participating much for a while as there is lots to sort out, and I want need to spend time with the very special person in my life now, as well as my family.
Sorry if all this sounds soppy and inappropriate.
All the best & I will speak to you all soon.
Phil

Phil,
There's no such thing as soppiness and inappropriateness in these circumstances: the peace and tranquility of these orchids bear testament to that.
Thoughts are with you/your family and focus on the positives that there are so clearly there amongst everything else.

Hi Phil,
Nature does deal some very hard blows to all of us and we can only take solace in knowing that it also offers some wonderful times in our lives. I believe that some good things are in store for you as the years progress and you should know that you have many friends around you that are here to support you and are at the end of a phone or just a short journey should you wish to call on them at anytime.
My heart goes out to you (both) and your family at this time and I hope to catch up with you very soon.

It is the sadness, the unfairness and the ugliness of life that makes the beautiful even more so. I am so sorry to hear that sad news, but glad that you also have a share of the beautiful and the good as well.
It's a lovely image Phil, a reminder that there is more good to look forward to. Eric

Having lost my wife to cancer seven years ago, I may have some idea of what you have experienced. We all have ways of dealing with loss which is often made bearable by the support and good wishesof family, friends and even complete strangers. This image is very appropriate in the circumstances. Good luck for the future.
