During one of my drives through the hills about a month ago, I had to stop and watch this lone horse who had ventured away from a few others. When I spotted him (or her) they were actually trying to eat what was at that time very frozen grasses, but hey they still have to eat. It did raise their head long enough for me to snap this off before they headed back down the hill to join their friends.

Thge lines in the snow bespeak of the very strong winds that accompanied a duo of strong storms in the Flint Hills area during the time your photo was taken.
The lines in the snow add in art and ambiance to the photo for those who understand the aforementioned.
