Kestrel(Falco tinnunculus) The Barney robber.
D300S + 600mm AFS II f4 d. + 1.4 Conv.
1/250 @ f5.6.
ISO: 400.
Ex Comp -0.7EV.
WB: Aoto A2, 0.
Picture Control: Neutral.
Contrast -1.

This bird had the right idea in terms of saving energy.
Everytime the Barn Owl caught a prey item this bird swooped down and robbed it. It even followed the BO into a wood and after an almighty screem of victory appeared out of the side with goods on board.

Perhaps a little too far out to the right, but a cracking shot coupled with an interesting storyline.

Very nice Major. :toast:

A good alert pose and you can see the anticipation in his face.

Nicely done Major!

Great light on the bird, and the oof foliage breaks up the monotone sky nicely.

They're bu**ers aren't they? Poor barnies. Lovely pic in good light and a watchful expression on his face.

Yes the image tells the story Major, one I've seen so often recently with the cold snap, let the barney do all the work then rob him :frown: so for me it's a really good image in nice light   :wavey:
