I am looking for a service provider that can host my photography web-site. I build my own site and have a domain name. I would just like a service where I can easily upload my files and get domain name and email resolution. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I use Web.com on a Windows server. I've found them to be reliable and support is good. I've also heard good things about Lunar Pages and Hostgator.

I don't know how you're uploading files, Anil. If you need to use http (Front Page Extensions) your chioices will limited as many hosts are dropping them. I use WS-FTP to upload files via an ftp account; it's fast and easy.

I use 3 Essentials. It's an ASP.NET site and I've been very pleased with them. If you don't need ASP.NET, I used to use Pair and they were very reliable too. Pair is hosted on BSD Unix.

I would recommend you continue to keep your DNS registration separate from your web host.

I use hostgator and find them easy to work with.

I use InMotion, http://support.inmotionhosting.com/, and have had no problems with them during the two years I have been with them. They do include one registration with your annual fees and I have heard from others on this site that they have had none of the horror stories you hear from other some sites when they want to leave and take their DNS registration with them. I transferred from another hosting company because I got more here for less, but they were good too. I just don't remember their name at the moment.

I use ifp3 and have nothing to complain about. Other photo friends
of mine use Betterphoto.com. However, I must admit my weakness
and lack of knowledge on such subjects. Frankly, I don't know if
what I've mentioned above is even "service providers".

I have been with Total Choice Hosting for many years. They offer just about anything you could ever need in a hosting site, have been extremely reliable, and quick with tech support. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/

I'm with Godaddy. Price was very nice and so far I have been happy with the service and hosting. I switched my domain registration to them when I switched to the for hosting as well. They were cheaper than both my old registrant (Network Solutions) and my old host. (Jaguar PC)
