Hi I'm off to Scotland tomorrow (Sun) for a four day visit, have to go to Braemar first but then free to roam, anyone been up there recently can point me in the direction of recent activity, deer/cresties/crossbill/red squirrels I'd be very grateful.
Thanks.

I was up in Braemar over new year, not sure about woodland birds and squirrels as you'd need a prebaited site for those. Plenty of deer around though, try the Golf Course for Roe and Dippers (on the river, around the wooden bridge). Lots of Reds on all the hills around Braemar, walk along the roads and you'll see plenty. One or two mountain hare on the hills to the south but tricky to approach of course.
Hope that helps some
